Radiant Barrier

Radiant Barrier

Whether it’s due to the rising costs of power or concern for the environment, today’s consumers are more conscious about energy efficiency than ever before. Since climate control systems are among the biggest users of electricity, why not take every possible step to minimize the amount of time your air conditioner needs to run on a hot day? One way to do this is to have your fiberglass insulation contractor install a radiant barrier in your home’s attic. At Rader’s Insulation, we’ve been working in the Baton Rouge community for more than a decade, and we can help you save money and protect the natural world by installing this important reflective surface in your house.

Minimize Your Energy Use & Reduce Your Bill

Thermal energy can travel through a building using three methods: convection, conduction and radiation. While fiberglass or cellulose insulation can help block the first two, the third method is a direct route and heats everything that stands in its path. By arranging installation of a radiant barrier directly underneath the roof’s surface, you’ll have a reflective surface that bounces radiation back out into the atmosphere and away from the interior of your home. It’s important to keep this material free from dust, otherwise the overall efficiency of the material could decrease.
